CS isn't giving out any secrets

I emailed CS about a week ago asking if there were any plans for a 20th Anniversary celebration and if "the next doll" I didn't say Emily, will be available to club members first. I got back the standard, "we don't know, and we probably wouldn't tell you anyway." I hope someone else has more luck!

I doubt they're going to actually do much. It's 1/4 in the year and there hasn't been much ado, so I am not expecting anything for the 20th year. They might, but if they did it'd probably be something that I don't need anyway.

I don't understand what the link is supposed to show us? The first dolls were sold in 1986, and In 1996, they celebrated the 10 year anniversary....

??? It actually says, if you scroll down "1996 marked the tenth anniversary for the American Girls Collection." Which means this year would be the 20th.

...considering they marked the 10th in 1996, I think they consider 1986 to be the opening of the company, as that's when they first started selling.

Had they celebrated the 10th in 1994, I would agree with you.

OH. Well, lol, ok then. I was quite confused [img]smile.gif[/img] .

The shirts in 1996 were out almost all year. I *think* they premiered in the Summer (or maybe Spring) catalogue. I remember having mine during Summer.

It would be great if they're just waiting until closer to the holidays. I don't think they'd do that, because it would have to be a limited edition item, and having it just available for the Holidays (I'd guess November and December), would get a lot less money than releasing it in Summer, and selling it for the rest of the year.

Can still hope for the Holiday thing, though [img]smile.gif[/img] , that gives an added amount of time, if summer goes by without anything.
